Vitzbold began his competition career in 2024 and currently competes in age-group classes.

Vitzbold’s sire, Verdi, is a European and World Champion and an Olympic team silver medallist with the Dutch national team. Together with Maikel van der Vleuten, he competed at five consecutive major championships: the 2011 European Championships in Madrid, the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 2013 European Championships in Herning, the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, and the 2015 European Championships in Aachen. He also competed in three World Cup Finals, finishing sixth twice and seventh once.

Verdi’s dam line traces back to the renowned Holsteiner family 474, “Plüschau”, which is associated with successful horses such as VDL Bubalu, Vingino and Calato, who has also stood at stud in Hungary. Verdi currently holds an impressive 18th place in the Top 100 ranking of breeding stallions, making him an influential name not only in international sport but also in breeding.

Vitzbold’s Oldenburg dam line also boasts an impressive record. He has two siblings competing at 1.40 m level, as well as an older brother who was awarded premium status as a licensed stallion in Oldenburg. His maternal line also has two notable Hungarian connections: his second dam produced Argon, an approved stallion who competed internationally up to 1.45 m, while his third dam produced Laura (Lord Liberty – Grannus), who competed up to 1.60 m with Attila Cser. In addition, this dam line has produced numerous successful sport horses competing between 1.40 m and 1.60 m.
