Kanaan is a promising young stallion with an impressive conformation, excellent jumping ability and great pedigree. He acquired the breeding licence in Hungary in 2018 at the Hungarian Sport Horse Breeding Association’s Stallion Test. Afterwards he started competing at a height appropriate for his age group, where he showed off his great technique and mentality fit for competing. He finished second in the 2019 National Indoor Final for 6-year-old horses then in 2020 he proceeded onward to a higher level of 130-135cm, where he now performs successfully. He frequently passes on his special features, resulting in most foals being of conspicuous colour, unusual movement and imposing appearance.

Kanaan’s pedigree is remarkable on both the sire’s and the dam’s side. Kanaan’s sire, Kannan was the only stallion who has reserved his place in the top 16 of the WBFSH Sire Ranking for nearly ten years. The son of the famous Voltaire started his stallion career after fantastic show jumper results. His offspring also have exceptional ability at International Grand Prix level. His most successful progeny: Nino des Buissonnets won gold at the 2012 London Olympics, ridden by Steve Guerdat; Diva II, was successful at the 2015 European Chamionship in Aachen ridden by Ben Maher, and Molly Malone, who launched the young Irish rider, Bertram Allen’s competitive career. Kannan’s descendants are characterized by power, prudence and a strong sense of competition. The extraordinary stallion passed away in 2020, so his progeny will become even more valuable for breeders in the future.

On the maternal side the stallion’s great-grandsire is the famous Sandro Boy, who won the World Cup final in Kuala Lumpur, ridden by Marcus Ehning. He has accumulated more than €1.2 million in prize money during his show jumping career.

Kanaan’s dam line goes back to the well-known Chacco-Blue as well. Having died at a young age, the stallion became very popular among breeders through his offspring. More than 1,500 of his foals now compete at 160 cm and are regular Olympics participants. He is the leading sire on the WBFSH Sire Ranking since 2017 without interruption.
